Types of Therapy offered
Individual Therapy
Our individual therapy sessions are designed to help clients navigate a wide range of mental health challenges, from anxiety and depression to trauma and relationship issues. We utilize evidence-based treatments to help clients build resiliency, develop healthy coping skills and achieve their goals.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a therapeutic model viewing the mind as naturally made up of distinctive "parts" or subpersonalities, each with its own thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. These 'parts' develop in response to life experiences, sometimes becoming stuck in negative protective patterns. IFS Helps individuals identify and heal these parts, fostering self-awareness, compassion, and inner harmony. The approach emphasizes the idea of a core 'Self' that is calm, compassionate, and capable of leading the system, promoting balance and internal integration of our wounded and protector parts.
Couples Therapy
Our couples therapy sessions help partners deepen their connexion, improve communication, and resolve conflicts. We work with couples to identify patterns of behaviour that may be causing distress and provide tools to help them build a stronger, healthier relationship.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a structured, goal-oriented therapy that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviours. It helps individuals recognise how their thoughts influence emotions and actions, often leading to distress or maladaptive behaviour. By challenging distorted thoughts and replacing them with more realistic, balanced ones, CBT aims to reduce emotional suffering and improve coping skills. CBT is often used to treat conditions like anxiety, depression, and PTSD, and is typically short-term, practical and evidence-based, empowering individuals to develop healthier thought patterns and actions.
EMDR Therapy
EMDR stands for “Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.” It is a procedure used in psychological therapy to help reduce the impact of past experiences that intrude on our present-day lives. Often, these experiences from the past involve traumas such as assault, abuse, an accident, or a natural disaster. Even though the trauma may have happened many months or even years ago, we may still feel its impact in our daily life through post traumatic symptoms such as intrusive memories, emotional flooding or numbing, nightmares, anxiety, low self-esteem, and difficulty getting on with your life.
EMDR has also been used to help people deal with anxiety and panic problems, grief issues, reactions to physical illness, and many other conditions where strong emotions are associated with life experiences.
The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.
