Medicare Rebates
The Better Access to Mental Heath Care Initiative, allows adults and children to access psychological services and receive rebates from Medicare for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. The current rebate paid by Medicare is $141.85 per session.
To be eligible for a Medicare rebate an individual must be referred by a General Practitioner (GP), Pediatrician or Psychiatrist. The GP will generally undertake an evaluation of your mental health asking you questions about your symptoms and circumstances as well as assessing other areas of your general health. If they deem psychological therapy services may be useful, they will draft a Referral Letter and Mental Health Care Plan. This letter and plan are required before your initial consultation to allow a rebate to be paid.
Self-Referrals
You do not need a referral to book an appointment with us.
If you have Private Health Insurance, you may be entitled to a rebate though your provider. We recommend you check with your provider prior to your appointment. It should be noted that we do not process claims for private health insurance at the clinic.
National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
We are not currently registered providers for NDIS, however, we can accept NDIS clients who are plan or self-managed.
Cancellation Fees
If, for some reason, you need to cancel or postpone the appointment, you are required to give at least 24 hours notice, otherwise you will be charged for the cost of the session. If you decide to book sessions ahead, you remain responsible and liable for these times. It will be your responsibility to cancel an appointment within 24 hours or you will be charged for the session. This also applies to clients being seen under TAC, Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal or Workcover.
Cancellation under 24hrs prior to appointment - Full payment will be charged
Non Attendance - Full payment will be charged
Most third party payees do not cover non-attendance or cancellations fees, the client will be responsible for payment of these cancellation fees
Any outstanding accounts after 14 days will be referred to a third party for follow-up.
